Villagers in Sabden have raised £885for Christian Aid with acoffee morning and an envelope collection.


Dozens of people went along to the coffee morning in St Mary’s Community Hall and dropped off donations and stayed for coffee and a catch­ up.


The event was organised


by members of Sabden Chris­ tian Council and co-ordinat­ ed by member Mrs Eileen Lowe. All the village churches


were involved. ' St Mary’s provided both


the hall and refreshments, St Nicholas’s Church ran the tombola and the Baptist Church kept people happy with a cake stall. Other helpers ran a plant


stall, books and cards, home­ made knitted teddies and clothes, handbags and jewel­ lery. A good time was had by all ■ who attended the event.
