Latest high tech lighting for 8oo-year-old castle keep


Clitheroe Castle and the Ribble Valley skyline were spec- tacularlylitby locally- based and internationally renowned specialist LED manufacturers acdc gave a demonstration of their latest LED flood light product, Fusion. The event formed part of an intensive two-day educational experience, organised andhostedbythe Barrowford-based business, which brought together 60 of UK’s brightest and most renowned lighting designers, culminating in the prod­ uct demonstration pictured above. A mixture of deep blues, intense greens and burnt oranges perfectly grazed the castle’s exterior stone walls with ease,

with contrasting reds and cool whites positioned inside to illuminate the circular opening part way up the castle keep and the doorway on the front castle wall, adding a level of contrast and depth.


Gareth Frankland, acdc’s chief executive, commented: “It was such a pleasure to see our clients enjoy not only the edu­ cational seminars we delivered, but equally the view we cre­ ated on this true gem in Pennine Lancashire’s crown. “We would like to extend our thanks to Ribble Valley Council for their support and for granting us permission to use their prestigious location for our event.”

stage at the Royal Northern College of Music Concert Hall, Manchester, on Sun­ day in a bid to reach the na­ tional finals. The 18-year-old, who has


been singing for the past few years, said she was excited and delighted to perform in front ofthe music industry’s topjudging panel. She said: “I entered the


competition at the begin­ ning of the ye.ar and didn’t think 1 would hear anything. 1 was delighted when they asked me to audition. “On Sunday I sang ‘where


did the love go’ by a band called ‘Bipolar Sunshine’. In total, 28 people auditioned and I felt my audition went well. I was confident and it was another great experi­ ence. Most of my family and friends came to watch and support me.” Kelsey, who lives in Sab­ den and is a former Bow-
