I have been driving the Toy­ ota Aygo x-clusive 7 so called because of the big ‘X’ design which straddles bonnet and bumper areas for a dramatic

Aygo - originally designed


within a triumvirate of models in an agreement with Citroen and Peugeot made in Poland - has certainly sharpened up . its act since then. The basic


^ ^ sh ap e is very similar but the rather rounded and friendly looking predecessor has been replaced by a new kid on the block that’s altogether more . dynamic and striking and


® boasting a much more edgy design both front and rear. .' . It’s almost as i f the Aygo

sic and not recommended for longjourneys and the boot re­ lease button remains annoy­ ingly fiddly to open. There’s also little rear legroom or boot space. But frugal Aygo remains


one of the ultimate city cars that’s hard to beat pound for pound.
