are presenting "8 4 Charing Cross Road" for their Autumn production this year.
Based on the book by Helene Hanff,
it was later made into a stage play about the 20-year correspondence - between the author and Frank Doel, chief buyer of Marks and Co. Antiquarian Booksellers. The warm,' compassionate and very
human exchange of letters is here skilfully and lovingly adapted for the
‘ stage. The evening promises'fun, happiness, a little sadness and a lot of goodwill.

A GALA Evening will be held at Stonyhurst College - a combination of good food, wine and entertainment from the school's chamber choir, Schola Cantorum. The choir will sing a variety of songs from
well-known musicals at the event, which will take place on Friday November 18th, at 6-30 p.m., in the splendid setting of the College's Jacobean Top Refectory. Tickets are available now at £20 per person.
and include a full hot and colei buffet menu, with wine, followed by dessert, coffee and mints. Also included are complimentary raffle and tombola tickets for a range of lovely prizes! In keeping with the "West End to Broadway"
theme, tables will be named after favourite musicals and guests are invited to name their — :

talented painter and has some excellent Scottish scenes in oils and Sally Fairclough, from just a few miles away in Thornley, is showing some of her vibrant paintings, many using wild flowers as the
subject matter. Frances Smith is exhibiting again this
year with her exquisite range of wooden boxes, dried flower pictures and gifts plus
a range of jewellery. . ' Bill Poole also exhibiting for the fourth
time in the winter exhibition has a great range of woodturning objects, from buttons to bowls and more. Pauline Parker has a display of fine textile work from her Creative Stitch studio near Catforth. Finally, Chipping resident Sarah
Peckham is back this year with her delightful collection of gifts and
decorations. ; The exhibition is open every day from
