funds towards the extensive repairs needed to the landmark church spire,
: with work due to begin next year. i : : Not only is this the first time that the ■, i A Cappella Singers will have performed' in this church,: it is also the first time : ■ ;: that they will be fully accompanied by an orchestra for their whole ■ - programme. The orchestra has been
' formed from local musicians, many of whom have already performed in Ciitheroe, and some are professional:, players in their own right.

O ' U I aim talent night
SOME of the most talented youngsters in Lancashire, including singers from Ciitheroe, will appear in a special evening at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn tonight, November 17th. "Maise/', a singing
group from Ciitheroe Youth, will perform as part of the Lancashire Boys and Girls Clubs' annual "Clubs Got Talent" night. And one of the hosts of the talent-packed show will be Clitheroe'sbwn Amy Burns, alias A Me B, who . won the Clubs' Cot Talent event in 2009 and has just released her first single. Since her success in
2009, Amy has gone on to perform at the 0 2 ; Academy in Liverpool supporting Ijnchy Stiyder. and recently returned from a recording session at the ,
Abbey Road Studios in London. Maisey, comprising
members of Ciitheroe Youth, will open the show at the Thwaites Empire Theatre, performing on
. the same bill as acts from youth clubs in Blackburn, -Preston, Blackpool, Morecambe, Bolton and other Lancashire towns and cities.
: The evening will also see the Lancashire Boys and Girls Clubs "traditional" awards ceremony to highlight the positive achievements of young people and the excellent behind the scenes work of so many voluntary youth clubs. A Me B will also be
showing young people how to mix music and write songs in the organisation's Club2Go:
