Richard's paintings on show at the Beeb

PAINTINGS by Clitheroe’s Richard Cross are being exhibited at BBC Radio Lancashire. The collection titled “Moments of

Awakening” will open on Monday with a special preview event and will run until June 12th. A lecturer at Blackburn College for the past 18 years, Mr Cross teaches the Pre- Degree Foundation and BA (Hons)

Degree courses in Fine Art. • He said: “My inspiration for my paintings comes from my everyday- life. I sometimies think that I go through life only half awake most of the time, but every now and then I’ll wake up and come to the surface. “These paintings and drawings

are about trying to capture those moments, when I am fully awake.

alive and experiencing life intensely I haven’t exhibited my work for a long time and it has taken me about two years to produce enough paint ings to create this exhibition,” added Richard.

■ . The exhibition will feature 25 oil

paintings, from self-portraits and portraits to landscapes and cityscapes.
