Christmas comes early for Valley toy tester Anna (four)

________by Andrew Spencer_______

CHRISTMAS has come early for one Ribble Valley youngster after she won the chance to become a “toy tester” for the day and being assigned the impor tant task of selecting the “must have” toys for this festive season. Anna Everand (four), from Clitheroe,

will be a member of a panel of 10 three to six-year-olds a t Rochdale-based toy com pany Martin Yaffe tomorrow. She will be given a once-in-a-lifetime

opportunity to spend an entire day playing with a whole host of brand new products that have not yet hit the toy shop shelves. Anna will have free rein of the compa

ny’s on-site, custom-built toy showroom to test out the latest products from popular ranges including Bob the Builder and R u p e r t Bear, as-well as new concepts designed by Born to Play'such as “Odd Bodz” and “Miss Wheelz”. The panel will offer a unique insight into

which toys will be in most demand during the run-up to Christmas and which prod ucts are top of the toy box across different age groups and sexes.- Peter Hatton, toy director a t Martin

Yaffe, said: “Our nationwide search received a huge response from parents wishing to put their children forward for this unique experience. “The ‘play panel’ is the perfect way to

hear from the children themselves about which toys they will be asking for this Christmas. I t ’s much more accurate than a group of adults around a boardroom table trying to guess what products will be a hit. “Selecting the panel was a difficult deci

sion, a s all the candidates were really bright and fun-loving, but we think we’ve found the 10 that will give us a run for bur money and make sure that Father Christ mas gets it right this year.” Feedback from the play panel will also

be used to anticipate product demand and make Christmas shopping for that “must- have” toy much less stressful. A n n a ’s mother, Susan, said: “I am

delighted that my daughter has been cho sen to join the play panel. Anna is such a bright, fun-loving child child and really knows her mind when it comes to toys. Ten children let loose in a toy showroom -

it’s

going to be a lot of fun. The folks at Mar tin Yaffe don’t know what they have let themselves in fori”
