Severe damage as blaze takes hold


FIRE-FIGHTERS attended a blaze at Clement’s Auto Electricians on Pendle Trading Estate in Chatbum on Monday evening. Two fire engines rushed to the scene at 9-04 p.m. to deal with a fire, which had taken hold of four vehicles and the commercial workshop. Fire-fighters had to use breathing appa­


ratus and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the incident. Severe damage was caused to two of the


vehicles, while there was slight heat dam­ age to three others. The fire also spread to the roof causing slight damage to the wood beams and there was 50% severe smoke damage throughout.
