COUNCIL house tenants in the Ribble Valley go to the polls over the coming weeks to decide the future of their homes. Tenants who sit on the shadow

board of the independent housing company, Ribble Valley Homes, have posted their ballot papers and are now encouraging fellow tenants to do the same. Coun. Stuart Hirst, chairman of

Ribble Valley Borough Council’s housing committee, joined them as they posted their votes on the pro posed transfer of the council’s hous ing stock. Tenant board member Joan

Knight said: “Deciding on transfer is one of the most important deci sions that council tenants will ever be asked to make. I’ve used my vote and hope that fellow tenants will also.” Coun. Hirst said: “The proposed transfer of the council’s housing

stock has been the subject of a mas sive consultation exercise and we want as many tenants as possible to have their say. “My message to tenants is, please

don’t waste your chance to have a say on the future of homes and serv ices in Ribble Valley.” Tenants have until November

26th to return their ballot papers. Further information is available

from the council’s free housing stock transfer phone line on 0800 195 2422.
