THIS photograph show s teachers from Ribblesdale School in 1956/57. It was submitted by Mr John Hanson, of Duck Street, Clillieroe, who was a pupil at the school from 1952. Pictured in the centre of the photograph, in the middle of the front row wearing the round glasses, is the head teacher of the time Mr Tom Chadwick.
SENT in bv e-mail this photograph shows pupils at St James’ CE School. Mr Robin Dawes, who now lives in Abbotts Ann, Hampshire, submitted the picture and commented: “I really enjoyed looking at the school photographs. Attached is one which must have been taken about 19al. I live in Hamp shire now, but visited Clithcroe last year.
Not much seems to have changed around the school. The adjacent mill is rather quieter though these days!
