Anticipation high ahead of new season

DOG Inn manager Simon Kerins cannot wait for the new Harry Dewhurst Memorial League season to start on Sunday. The Budweiser Boys

will kick off at Memorial Park with a home match against Foresterers. The Whalley side fin

ished last season strongly, but have endured a mixed pre-season.

Kerins said: “We have a

fine blend of youth and experience and, on our day, are capable of beating anyone in our division. “However, the players

need to have a greater belief in themselves and each other. A good start to the season is essential and we are hoping for three points on Sunday.”

Gittens donates new bowls trophy
