FAHRENHEIT 9/11 (15); The Grand Cinema; from. tomorrow

DOCUMENTAEY films have enjoyed a resurgence in recent years and at the forefront has been Ameri can director Michael Moore, questioning some of the values that underpin his own country. “Fahrenheit 9/11” is his

polemic against American president George W. Bush, starting with the murky manipulations surrounding Bush’s election, moving on to the terrorist attacks of “9/11” and America’s reac tion to them through “The War On Terror” and final ly the invasion of Iraq. Moore’s approach is that

of the C3mic, one who does not blindly accept what he is told. In his now familiar style he combines his own interviews with stock news clips to explore “media spin” and puts forward his own version of events. Although aimed at an

American audience, there is a lot here to set anyone thinking and, whether you agree with Moore or not, it can only be healthy to hear one dissenting voice.
