SWIMMING 200 lengths of Ribbles- dale Pool, Clitheroe, on a Sunday morning last year was not enough for Andrea Wilkinson and Beccy Ford (pictured). They aim to raise even more money

for two charities close to their hearts by running 13 miles next month. On September 21st, Andrea and

Beccy are taking part in the Great North Run in Gateshead in support of Breast Cancer Campaign and Cerebral Palsy.

Just 18 months ago, Andrea was

diagnosed with breast cancer, which resulted in major surgery and eight months of chemotherapy. Since recovering she has been

inspired to support the charity which has helped her through her illness. Dedicated training during eight months has turned them from com plete novices into two women ready and prepared to complete the 13-mile run.

As well as looking for sponsors, a

charity night has been organised and everybody is invited to help the pair raise funds for the two charities. It is being held at the Royal British Legion, Clitheroe, on September 12th and includes a disco, hotpot supper and draw. To make a donation, or buy a ticket,

contact Andrea or Beccy on 01200 427168/428925. Every £5 ticket bought gives the

purchaser an opportunity to win a meal for two at the Inn at Whitewell.

The market traders and other supporters have donated some fantastic prizes.” Mrs Ferguson has been fund-raising for
