valley, for two miles up the road is a bridge impassable to coaches.
, After the stop, the party con tinued down the River Dee, look-; ing at the brass plates on all the footbridges and stiles before reaching Dillicar. The return was by Tofts and Green Lane through Foul Moss to the finish. The views of the Howgills were spectacular throughout the walk.
