This signalled the beginning of a middle order collapse. ■ The wickets tumbled and - Grindleton found them selves floundering at 49 for 7. Robinson (21) and Whittaker (18 n/o) man aged to spare the visitors' blushes by batting out the overs and Grindleton fin ished on 89 for 8.,: jem . After the tea-interval, skipper Ainsworth tried to motivate his team and re kindle Gnndleton's famous fighting spirit. I t seemed to have worked. Grindle- ton's bowlers bowled a good line and length, and the fielding was both sharp and keen. Unfortu nately, with such a small total to defend, it was always going to be an uphill battle. Despite tak ing four wickets, the home- side got home at a canter with 15 overs to spare. Grindleton's man of the match was all-rounder Robinson. Next week, Grindleton hope to kick- start their season when they play a t home to Waddington.
