LUXURY CRUISES TRIPS TO FLOAT YOUR BOAT

At the start of the Covid pandemic, cruising holidays were the first to be hit. Ships were moored up in ports and even as travel restrictions were slowly lifted, these trips were still among the most highly regulated. Now cruising is back with a vengeance and if you have missed your onboard luxury trips over the last three years, take a look at these stunning offerings featuring fabulous, beautiful locations and bucket list itineraries.

AQUA MARE

EXPLORE THE GALAPAGOS Launching only in May 2022, the seven-suite Aqua Mare is the first superyacht to sail in the Galapagos Islands. At 164 feet long, the four-deck-high ship presents indoor and outdoor social spaces, stylish finishing and absolute attention to detail, making her the ultimate luxurious retreat while exploring the volcanic landscapes of the Galapagos archipelago.

The yacht accommodates up to 16 guests in seven large and splendid designer suites, including the 861-square-foot owner’s suite for a maximum of four guests. All cabins are characterised by wall-to-wall carpeting, full walnut veneer wood panelling, big windows that allow plenty of natural light and ensuite bathrooms fitted with Italian marble and a spacious walk-in shower plus a rain shower.

Outside of the cabins, the onboard social spaces are equally inviting, not least the panoramic main lounge, distinguished by its beam-to-beam windows, a huge U-shaped sofa, and two large flatscreen televisions. The teakwood sun deck has outdoor seating with a wraparound lounge sofa, a six-person jacuzzi, and convertible workout zones. The vessel also features a Beach Club, located at water level on the lower deck, which is complete with a hydraulic opening panoramic beam-to- beam window – a first for the Galapagos Islands.

Aqua Mare’s beauty is also transposed onto the plates served from its kitchen. Taking inspiration from the Coast to the Pacific, Chef Schiaffino will deliver a Peruvian Japanese Nikkei-inspired menu consisting of only the freshest sustainable ingredients sourced from local suppliers all the way to the Andes of Ecuador. Highlights to look forward to include Galapagueña lobster lettuce wraps with Acevichado dressing, delicate potato llapingachos, tuna crudo, barbecued plantains, and shrimp ceviche.
