CELEBRATING ROY ORBISON Barry Steele and a fabulous cast of musicians and singers return to Birmingham to take you on a musical journey from ‘The Black and White Night’ right through to the ‘Traveling Wilburys’ and beyond. In 1963, Roy Orbison performed for the first time at The Adelphi in Slough – in December 2018, Barry Steele performed at The Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End. In 1988 Roy Orbison joined ‘The Traveling Wilburys.’- in Barry Steele and Friends, the whole cast comes together to create an incredible fusion of rock n roll as they truly capture the essence of this original supergroup. COMIC ACTS Two top comics appear at Huntingdon Hall this month as part of Worcester’s fringe festival. Milo Edwards hasn't received a voicemail in some time. He'd like to talk about that and quite a lot else. Milo has questions. He's 29, which is located somewhere in that annoying transitional phase between childhood and death, and he's keen to know what the point of him is. Voicemail is a stand-up show which examines life, death, politics and the answering machine. Appearing on the same night is Hal Cruttenden with his show It’s Best You Hear It from Me. After 21 years and 224 days Hal's back being single. But it's all going to be fine. Instead of getting the therapy he clearly needs, he's made a cracking show about it. He's lost enough weight to almost get his wedding ring off and, while he may be flying solo, he's far from alone; he's got his grown-up daughters, his dogs and his divorce lawyer. THE LEGENDARY JOE JACKSON See international superstar Joe Jackson at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham this month. Touring with the same band who accompanied him on the successful Four Decade Tour of 2019, the show will feature both the full band and a 'mini-set' of Joe solo. The songs will be drawn from Joe's whole career, including some that haven't been heard live in many years. Watch out also for some surprises, including some completely new material.
