Bridge the gap between planning and operations
Founded in 1991, Transoft Solutions develops advanced and highly specialised software solutions for airport, air traffic, civil infrastructure and transportation professionals – the latest of which is AeroCENTRAL, an information-sharing platform that aims to streamline the transfer of data from airside planning to operations.

or those working in airside planning and operations, sharing infrastructural and operational information swiftly and safely between key stakeholders can often pose a challenge. AeroCENTRAL – the new cloud-native aviation software from Transoft Solutions – aims to bridge that gap, saving time, reducing data duplication and minimising the risk of data loss or error. Crucially, AeroCENTRAL is a centralised platform, removing any requirement for numerous online and offline data sources. “There’s not a need for users to run multiple data applications, access multiple databases, or learn multiple systems – they can just access one platform for this type of information,” says Matthias Hildebrandt, product manager at Transoft. Previously, he had worked as an airport planner, and time and time again had noticed difficulties when accessing operational information. “The major focus point is for us to provide a faster and more reliable way for users to access data and also achieve more efficient and safer operations on the apron,” he adds. AeroCENTRAL allows users to incorporate existing data with additional technical data from linked systems into one centralised system. For example, airside configurations, like those produced through Transoft’s AviPLAN software, can be coupled with supplement import data – such as turnaround procedures and routes and stand equipment locations – alongside the ability to connect to external geographic information system (GIS) databases, airport operational databases or safety management systems.

operations and planning teams to publish, distribute and view aircraft parking stand configurations, equipment locations, turnaround procedures and aircraft technical specifications. “We have recognised that we need to provide users of AviPLAN with an easier way to publish this kind of information,” notes Hildebrandt. “This was more or less the baseline to create Stand Guide, because up to this point in time, most of the information [from AviPLAN] was either exported in a PDF document or printed and then manually imported into other systems or documents.”
These apron operating documents – typically produced in cooperation with CAD drafters and engineers – required constant updating, republishing and sharing with stakeholders to ensure that up-to-date plans were available for collaborative decision making. With Stand Guide, benefits are clear for both day-to-day operations and major redesign projects alike – since the planning data can be distributed directly from AviPLAN, a lot of time can be saved. The
Specifications app, on the other hand, provides detailed manufacturing information on more than 600 airplanes, helicopters and eVTOLs, Hildebrandt explains. “Users can easily access information if they need further technical data for planning purposes,” he adds. “If, for example, they have to park an aircraft, require wingspan details, or need to connect a boarding bridge or stairs – they can get all this information from one centralised location.” As a web-based platform accessible to users on a range of devices, the data held in AeroCENTRAL is available 24/7 to office-based and on-the-ground teams. AeroCENTRAL is Transoft’s first software-as-a-service solution for the aviation industry, available on a user- subscription model. As it’s a cloud-native platform, Hildebrandt expects to see enhancements and the addition of new applications over the coming years, providing more functionalities to further streamline data. ●
