adisson Hotel Group (RHG) is one of the world’s largest hotel groups, extending over 1,500 hotels in operation and in development across 120 countries, with a strong global footprint and relevant portfolio of nine distinct brands. Building on the success of its five- year transformation plan, centred on 26 initiatives, the company is ready for the rebound of travel, and is solidly committed to becoming the brand of choice for owners, partners and guests by delivering a flexible cost model, a best-in-class revenue management system and a fully updated brand architecture.


Our strong footprint in the UK and Ireland includes over 66 hotels and over 15,000 rooms with eight additional properties in the pipeline. In 2020, we opened our first dual- branded property Radisson RED London Heathrow and Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre London, with 258 rooms and 637 rooms respectively. This summer, we are doubling our Radisson RED presence with the opening of Radisson RED Gatwick and Radisson RED Greenwich, as well as welcoming Radisson RED Newcastle and Radisson RED Liverpool in 2022. We are also proud to be adding new properties to our Radisson Blu portfolio, the largest upper upscale brand in Europe for


ten consecutive years, with the opening of the historic Radisson Blu Hotel Perth, Scotland and Radisson Blu Hotel, Sheffield opening in 2023.


One of the areas in which RHG has made its mark over the last challenging year is our strong reputation to respond swiftly to opportunities and challenges, and to adapt to changing market conditions and guest feedback, which is collected daily in our quality systems. Especially over the last year, we have put health and safety first with the roll out of our Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol in partnership with SGS. We are the first hotel group to launch a comprehensive testing programme and rapid testing service for meeting and event attendees across our EMEA portfolio, to facilitate a swift return to business meetings and events.


Over the last three years, we have invested over $400m to further strengthen our brands, and developed new innovative business offerings such as Hybrid Solutions, our serviced apartments and an urban resort concept. RHG has also invested over $100m in its IT infrastructure and world-class digital solutions.


While many hotel groups put their development plans on hold in 2020,


Radisson Hotel Group continues to expand and improve its global hospitality services, with multiple projects on the go. It has also invested $500m to be ready for the post-pandemic rebound, writes its chief development officer Elie Younes.

RHG recorded 124 hotel signings in APAC and EMEA with 18,000 rooms, as well as the introduction of a new brand, Radisson Individuals in October 2020. We anticipated a need in the market for conversion-friendly solutions that offer existing hotels the opportunity to join a strong international network as they look for greater visibility and consumer confidence. Since the launch of Radisson Individuals, the brand has expanded its global presence in the UK, France, Italy, the US, India, Spain, Austria, Bulgaria and Africa. This year, we welcome River Ness, a member of Radisson Individuals, in Inverness.


Looking ahead We have achieved great success with our serviced apartments, which provide investors with an attractive segment that is outperforming the rest of the market. RHG has set a target to more than double its serviced apartments portfolio within the next five years across EMEA. Our dynamic business model of leased, managed and franchised hotels means we can offer owners a tailor-made solution, and deliver one of the strongest GOP margins in the industry. To date, 65% of our owners have more than one property with us. These long-standing relationships are based on trust, responsibility and accountability. We believe in the strength of our industry, and are ready to welcome back travel safely as vaccinations and digital health certificates are rolled out globally. ●
