MODULYSS
‘The Circular Economy’ is a new RIBA accredited CPD seminar from modulyss that explores what circularity means, how it is likely to evolve and how soft floor coverings can contribute to it. The seminar takes a deep dive into circularity and how it can help us to reduce our impact on the environment to protect our planet for future generations through sustainable specifications. Cutting through the hype of product sustainability claims and identifying what they mean, it promises revealing and informative insight into sustainability within commercial interiors and floor coverings.

PARKSIDE X STRATA
Parkside Acrux and Hexil mosaic tiles are being used throughout the bathrooms and en suites of the high-specification homes at the prestigious Royal Exchange, Kingston Upon Thames. Inspired by the architecture of the Grade II listed Old Post Ofice and Telephone Exchange buildings within the development, the design team at St George selected Hexil mosaics and developed a bespoke tile to create a link to the heritage of the site in new buildings. The stylish cross motif with a handmade feel is now part of the Parkside collection as Acrux, which is made with 39% recycled content.

Humans are drawn to nature, to the scaled back environment where only nature grows and life occurs, where plant life and carbon sequestration work in harmony to create fresh, unpolluted air, easy-breathing and a feeling of space. Choosing surfaces that carry natural patterning and colours are an essential complement to biophilic design, promoting a healthier and calmer psyche. This assimilation with nature is seen in ‘Riven’ by Rawson Carpet Solutions, the structured patterning and combination of natural colours such as rock, stone and moss, come together in the space, exuding a feeling of being with nature.
