NOTORIOUS SCAMMER
You can read more about Jake Dean at:

One of the drivers who took him to court recently told me that Jake Dean had pleaded not guilty, but then quickly changed his plea when he realised that the three drivers had turned up as witnesses on the day of the court hearing.
However, I have had it on good authority that Jake Dean did not pay a penny back, as ordered by the court, and there were many other drivers that he also bumped so the £500 he owed the three drivers was probably just the tip of the iceberg.
In 2016 we had a scammer in the city who bumped many taxi drivers over a long period of time. I won’t name this person but you can read all about Jake Dean in the local Argus paper from 2017 where he was taken to court by two local taxi drivers and a black cab driver who he had bumped as well.
“A taxi fare dodger, who said he worked for investment bank JP Morgan as part of a scam deceiving cab drivers, has been ordered to pay the money back. Jake Dean, 24, took cabs in Brighton, Peacehaven and London before telling drivers he did not have the money to pay them.
The fraudster promised he would pay them the following day but instead strung them along with promise of payment. He was later sacked from a sales job in Canary Wharf over the scam. Dean was given a 12-month community order and made to pay back the fares amounting to over £500 at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning.”
PHTM MARCH 2023
Well, moving forward a few years, Jake Dean has once again been up to his old tricks and has now bumped a load more taxi drivers in the city. Unfortunately for Jake Dean he was not aware of the local social media network we have here where such information is shared in the trade. So, in a situation like this, as soon as a driver is bumped this information is released into our network and a pattern begins to emerge.
And very often these stupid people seem to forget that when they put their profiles on Facebook it’s very easy to obtain up-to-date photos of them which we can then distribute. Additionally, whilst not a long-term solution, any mobile number that such a person has used can be blocked on all the circuits which was done, and of course all details were passed onto the police.
Apparently Jake Dean found out that we were on to him and contacted one of the taxi companies with offers to pay up. However, whilst these messages have been recorded, Jake Dean has failed to hand over a single penny.
I
understand that this has been referred to the police so we will have to wait and see what happens. At the very least it is hoped that Jake Dean has stopped taking us for fools.
As I stated, I won’t name him as he would probably be really embarrassed….
