Sheffield private hire operator, City Taxis, has joined forces with Veezu, the UK’s leading data-driven tech- enabled mobility platform to the private hire sector. The acquisition is an exciting opportunity for City to offer an improved experience for driver- partners and their passengers. Passengers can still book rides with City Taxis on their free booking app or using the usual City Taxis’ phone numbers. The same friendly City driver- partners will continue to pick up passengers in a City Taxis branded vehicle and take them safely to their destination with the same fares paid as usual. DG GROUP ACQUIRES SPEEDLINE PH LEEDS
DG Cars working in partnership with Boro Cars of Middlesbrough, has acquired Speedline Private Hire, Leeds bringing a further 120 cars into the fleet, and taking the DG Group fleet beyond 2,000 cars. Speedline recently celebrated 50 years in business, making it one of the oldest private hire companies in West Yorkshire and its operations are likely to be combined with the Arrow Cars business acquired 12 months ago. Arrow has the contract to serve Leeds- Bradford Airport, and Speedline is a good strategic fit. DG Cars, based in Nottingham, made a number of major acquisitions in 2022, turning it into a major player operating mainly down the east side of England. Most recently, it completed the takeover of ACE-ABC of Mansfield last September, adding a fleet of 220 cars and a permanent staff of 35 to DG Group. DG Group also acquired Pirate Cars of Sutton in Ashfield, Alert Cars of Arnold, Nottinghamshire, CamCabs of Cambridge and Oasis of Kirkby in Ashfield last year.
