CILIP AGM 2022


This year the CILIP AGM will be held online on Wednesday 26 October 2022. The theme for the CILIP AGM is ‘Cele- brating our Profession’, highlighting the achievements of our members through- out the year. The AGM is an opportunity


for members to hear about current plans and to influence the future direction of your professional body. Members wishing to submit resolutions to be considered at the AGM should send them in writing or by email, clearly marked


‘Resolution for AGM’, to Nick Poole, Chief Executive, CILIP, 7 Ridgmount Street, London WC1E 7AE or email: nick. poole@cilip.org.uk. The last day by which notice of any resolution must be received is midnight on Friday 26 August, 2022.


CILIP Trustee and Vice-President elections 2022


As a Chartered Institute, CILIP’s chari- table purpose is “to promote education and knowledge through the establish- ment and development of libraries and information services and to advance information science”. Our governance is led by a voluntary Board of Trustees and a Presidential Team, which includes a President and a Vice-President. Each year, we hold elections to invite people from across our community to take up these roles and to help shape the future of your professional body. In addition to seeking ‘ordinary’ Trustees, we are also seeking a New Professional Trustee (within the first five years of professional employment) to join the Board for a two- year term.


Who can stand for election? Candidates wishing to stand for elec- tion as Vice-President or as a Trustee must generally be an ordinary member

of CILIP on submission of their nomi- nation, or be willing to join within one month of appointment. They must not be disqualified from holding office as a Trus- tee. New Professional Trustees should be within the first five years of their professional employment as a librarian, information or knowledge specialist. If either election is contested, a ballot will be held. All members eligible to vote and with an email address regis- tered with CILIP, will receive an email with full information on how to vote online.
