new talent. WWE 2K19’s roster is packed to the rugged rafters with literal heavy hitters, with superstars such as ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey, the British contingent of Tyler Bate and WWE UK champion Pete Dunne, and incredible upcoming talent such as the Velveteen Dream. But this version isn’t just about the
newbies in the roster, as plenty of returning faces have been spruced up and made to look that little bit more like their real-life grappling counterparts. For example, the likenesses of the ever-brilliant Sami Zayn and eminently huggable Bayley are now closer than ever to the actual fi ghters. Whoever you’re looking for from the WWE’s current roster, the chances are you’ll fi nd them in WWE 2K19. One of the names making a big splash in this year’s game – aside from cover
star and WWE champion AJ Styles (more on him shortly) – is Daniel Bryan. The king of the ‘yes movement’ is the star of the returning Showcase mode, a single-player campaign which covers his rise from NXT contestant all the way to his career defi ning, against-all-odds championship win at WrestleMania XXX. Completing the mode is like reliving a slice of wrestling history, and the sense of authenticity is bolstered even further by the inclusion of historic WWE footage.
