Wild country 1 The game takes place in 1899, around 12 years prior to the events of the last game. 2 You can talk to almost anyone you encounter, and all your dialogue takes place in the world itself rather than menus or dialogue trees. 3 Early work on Red Dead Redemption 2 started before the fi rst game even shipped. 4 You’ll have to clean and maintain weapons to keep them working properly.
Dutch van der Linde is a charismatic leader, and fancies himself a philosopher outlaw
rom somewhere in the distance, we can just make out the roar of a steam train. It means that
we’re running out of time. Quickly, Bill Williamson plants his charges on the rickety railway and takes his place by the detonator.
Meanwhile, we scrabble

chuff s into view, Williamson jams down on the detonator and then… nothing. The charges have failed and suddenly, Dutch’s carefully orchestrated robbery is thrown into disarray. The plan was to derail the train and pick it clean but suddenly, we’re having to fl ing ourselves onto the roof of the speeding locomotive, watching as

player-character Arthur Morgan struggles to keep his footing on the swaying train. We drop into a carriage
below, and breathe a sigh of relief that we’re no longer one wrong step away from a fatal fall. But a few seconds later, a bullet whizzes past Morgan’s head and we’re forced to dive for cover. The train guard pushes his advantage, charging us down with gun drawn. But before he can reach our hiding place, we lean out of cover and snap into the new and improved Dead Eye mode. Time
slows to a crawl and the screen is bathed in a
sepia hue as we level our pistol and cover the target in X-shaped marks. As time snaps back to its regular pace, Morgan fans the hammer, unloading a bullet at each of those X-marks. Our would-be assailant crumples to the ground with a heavy thud.
