CONSTRUCTION OF THE PALACE TOOK PLACE 1864 – 1868 Following the death of Maximilian Joseph in 1863, 36-year old Wilhelm began constructing the palace at Parkring 8 almost immediately.

Built for Archduke Wilhelm and some 50 members of his household, the palace currently accommodates just under 200 OFID staff members from 31 countries.
