CAREER EXPLORERS (AGES 12–18) Choosing a career or college focus with so many options can be overwhelming. Meet a diverse group of individuals who are following their passions and dream jobs. From Firemen to business owners, you’ll listen to experiences and career advice firsthand. Career Explorers are for students who are looking to find what fields might inspire and motivate them to continue their education and provide direction for their future.

KEEP LEARNING COURSE SERIES TEACH YOUR KID TO RIDE A BIKE A hands-on course covering basic skill-building exercises and tips for teaching yourself or your child how to ride a bicycle. Feel free to bring your own bicycle and bicycle-riding student! Helmets are required for adults and children who will be riding bicycles. Bicycles are not required to learn the exercises and skill-building tips.

DESERT SURVIVAL Avoiding and surviving emergencies in harsh arid wilderness with minimal resources is essential knowledge every outdoor enthusiast should have. Acquire basic knowledge, skills and confidence essential for surviving in the desert for 12-72 hours. This course will discuss shelter, water, food, first aid, navigation, and signaling. This is an indoor course in a classroom setting.

KNOW YOUR ARIZONA PARK: GRAND CANYON Grand Canyon National Park is among the most beautiful, exciting, and dangerous places in Arizona. This course will cover the park’s most popular hikes, including the rim-to-rim, as well as camping and backpacking. This course will also reveal some of the canyon’s history and secrets.

COMPUTER BASICS Build confidence and competency with Windows and basic laptop computers. Take a tour of Windows features and menus. Learn about computer components and ports. Practice file creation, keyboard and mouse use.

Bring your phone to class.

Through a review of resume content and formatting best practices, students will learn to tailor their resume so that they are competitive for positions of interest.
