MESSAGE FROM THE

MAYOR CITY COUNCIL

We would like to wish all our residents a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022! Avondale celebrated its 75th Anniversary as a City in 2021, and we are so excited for the next 75 years ahead!

Together, we emerged stronger from the struggles of 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, schools and businesses reopened, and community gatherings and special events started to take place again. We are grateful for how the community came together to support and celebrate each other, and we know 2022 will be even better! We are so proud of this city, and grateful for all the residents who call Avondale home.

At the City of Avondale, we take seriously the direction from our public health agencies and the severity of the risk to everyone in our community. The Centers

for Disease Control (CDC), as well as the State and County Health Departments, continue to advise and recommend that everyone does their part to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community by getting the vaccine, social distancing, washing hands, and wearing a mask in indoor settings. As COVID-19 is an ongoing public health situation, programs may have to be modified, cancelled or postponed based on any new protocols or advisories placed after this publication was produced.
