Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program


Benevilla Home Services This program provides assistance within the communities of Avondale, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Buckeye and Tolleson to older adults lacking the resources to maintain their independence at home. Services are volunteer driven and available short or long-term to those with limited resources and options.

Individuals and families with an income less than $55,000 are eligible to have their taxes prepared for FREE.


Tuesdays, January 28 - April 14 Saturdays, February 1 - April 11


} For married filing joint, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms


} Photo ID


} SSN cards or ITIN for you, your spouse, and/or dependents


} Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN


} Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc from all employers


} Interest and dividend statements (Forms 1099-INT, 1095-DIV)


} Info for all other income 3 - 7 pm 9 am - 1 pm


} Info for all deductions/credits } A copy of last year’s tax return


} Total paid to day care provider w/tax ID number


} Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return


} Forms 1095-A, 1095-B or 1095-C (ACA Statements)


} Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable


} Bank routing and account number for Direct Deposit


Southwest Human Development Raising a Reader


FREE 8-week, early literacy program designed to educate parents and caregivers of children from birth to age 5 about the importance of early literacy and how to build literacy skills in their young children in order to help them


enter school ready to learn. This is an interactive, parent/caregiver and child program.


Thursdays, Starting January 9 10 - 11:30 am


Benevilla volunteers provide FREE help with: } Grocery shopping } Assisted transportation to medical appointments } Light handyman services } Friendly visits } Phone wellness call check-ins } Business assistance and more


Benevilla staff are present at the Care1st Avondale Resource Center on Tuesdays.


Common Sense Parenting: Toddlers and Preschoolers


This evidenced based, practical training program gives parents and caregivers effective discipline skills and helps them be more positive with their young children. This program has helped families achieve significantly fewer child behavior problems, improve parent and family satisfaction and positively impact school readiness and child development outcomes. This FREE program consists of 4 weekly sessions and childcare is available if needed.
