Welcome

I would like to take a moment to briefly introduce the North Greenville University Office of Campus Safety and Security. Whether you are a student, a member of the faculty, staff, or a visitor, the Office of Campus Safety and Security strives to provide you with a safe and secure place to worship, work, live, learn and recreate.

We serve the University community by providing professional security services around the clock, every day of the year. Recognized as the law enforcement agency of record by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, and granted powers as a deputy sheriff under state statute and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (S.L.E.D.),

our professionally trained officers are continuously available to answer calls for service and to respond to any emergency on campus.

The Office of Campus Safety and Security is committed to providing the University with advanced, proactive, and professional law enforcement and critical incident response. With a focus on community oriented policing and customer service objectives, this Office strives to emulate the Mission of the University and the teachings of Jesus Christ in every aspect of our responsibilities. Because of the strength of our department and quality of our Officers, we were recognized by three national campus safety organizations. However, we are not satisfied, we are still improving and growing.

The safety of the campus community is a top priority for the University. I report directly to the Senior Associate Vice-President of Operations. I am also in contact with several Vice Presidents of the University. This access allows the Office of Campus Safety and Security to be proactive in ascertaining potential issues and establishing measures directed at keeping everyone safe.

The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is intended to inform our campus community and the public at large, of the function of the Office of Campus Safety and Security, to highlight our planning and training and show the policies in place to handle emergency situations, our steps to keep the community informed of emergencies occurs on the campus and near, and some of our day to day operations and policies. This document is intended to provide the information needed to assist you in having a safe and healthy experience at North Greenville. Please read and become familiar with this important document.

We strive to develop relationships with all our students, faculty, and staff, and encourage you to visit our Office to learn more about our operations. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of Campus Safety and Security if you have any questions. You can contact me any time by calling (864) 977-7777 and follow the prompts or email me at tony.eigner@ngu.edu. If we can assist you, please come and see us. The on-duty officer can always be contacted at the same number.

In His Service,

Tony S. Eigner, BA, MPA Director of Campus Safety and Security
