o Tattoos, scars, moles, freckles, or other marks on the skin o Smells: cigarette smoke, cologne, perfume, pet odors, etc. o Clothing: color of shirt, pants, were they wearing a hat, shoes, etc. o Voice: was there anything memorable about the attacker’s voice? Male, female, raspy, hoarse, high or low-pitched, stutter, lisp, etc.


 If you have any written or electronic communications (text, emails, Snapchats, Facebook or Instagram messages, Tweets, etc.) with the perpetrator, preserve and save them (via photograph, screen shot, print off, phone records, etc.).


 If you are physically injured, photograph and document those injuries (bruises, scratches, cuts, burns, etc.).


By observing the above mentioned instructions, you will give a great help to investigators as well as protect yourself if you seek an Order of Protection. Orders of Protection can be obtained from the local magistrate’s office. If an Order of Protection is violated, the violator may be subject to arrest. In that event, Campus Safety & Security will abide by the judge’s ruling and make an arrest of the violator if so ordered. The Office of CMSE can also issue “No Contact Orders” between two members of the campus community. Those who violate an on-campus “No Contact Order” are subject to disciplinary action.
