• Interactive brokerage profitability report enables deep analysis

“This collection of ledger-style lists includes margins by shipper-consignee, by city-to-city, by customer, by carrier, and by dispatcher. If you want to know why your top customer is your top customer, click on their name and the rest of the fields respond. You can quickly discover all kinds of details - which lanes are making the most money for this customer, which of this customer’s carriers have the best margin, and how well the broker for this customer is handling the account. You can take this report, slice and dice as needed, and you’ll be able to see which brokers are producing and which are lagging behind. Maybe some of your brokers aren’t doing so well because they’re stuck with low-margin lanes. If you want to examine a particular lane, click on that lane within this interactive report and everything changes. You can see the customers, the carriers, and the brokers. If the margin was too low on a load, you can drill down and quickly uncover the reason. Was the carrier too expensive? Was the rate to the customer too low? Looking into this will tell you if a broker needs more coaching or a carrier’s rate is too high. Maybe you

lost money, but there’s a good reason. This dashboard exposes that. It provides several different ways to get information that would have taken hours without IQ. You can create the report once, and you’re set. If you had to set up all of this data every time someone requested information, you would never get anything else done.”

• High-level asset dashboard makes it easy to slice and dice data about revenue

“This dashboard is used by the dispatch manager. It includes an assortment of graphics that display metrics on revenue month-to-date, revenue per billed mile, pay per mile, revenue month-to-date by vendor code, total charges by consignee state, total charges by shipper state, order count, revenue by month, and empty percentage broken down into company drivers and owner-operators. Say that someone asks,

‘What’s our revenue per mile going into the state of Pennsylvania?’ You can click on Pennsylvania, and everything on this page will change. You’ll instantly be viewing revenue per billed miles and pay per mile for Pennsylvania. Revenue month-to-date is going to change, along with everything else. It really gives me some good information.”
