Welcome
During the past few months, whenever I’ve spoken to PTA members I’ve asked the same question: what are you hoping to do in the summer? Every PTA has a different answer, but even in the depths of winter, there was an air of anticipation about what might be possible. Now that the summer term is fi nally here, we hope those dreams can become reality. The theme of this issue is bouncing back. Our guide on p17 will help you
decide how big a bounce you’re ready for this term. There are also ideas for games and get-togethers, whatever the size of your group. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that in order to
fl ourish, we need to take care of our wonderful world. Heather Park explores some of the eco-friendly steps PTAs can take on p27. As older children prepare to leave, a nervous batch of starters is
getting ready for their fi rst day. Extend the hand of friendship and get new parents started on their PTA journey. Find out how on p39. Watching how PTAs have supported their communities in diffi cult
times has been so inspiring. As schools begin the task of helping pupils catch up, we know you’ll still be there for them because – as the past year has proved – our PTAs are dedicated, hard-working and unstoppable! Enjoy the issue,
