28 BLACKPOOL & FYLDE
Sarah Hall Director, B&FC for Business
About us
Blackpool and The Fylde College is one of the UK’s leading providers of professional and technical education.
We are particularly focused on developing the highly skilled people needed to drive growth and success in the wider UK economy and to fulfil the workforce needs of local, regional and national businesses both now and in the future throughout professional training and apprenticeships.
Our achievements
B&FC has long established links with the local and regional business communities which we have recently celebrated with the launch of our Platinum Partners scheme.
Platinum Partners recognises those employers who actively contribute to the life of the college and who have helped us to respond successfully to the changing business landscape.
Why we like doing business on the Fylde Coast
Recent and proposed investment in local infrastructure means now is a very exciting time for business in the Blackpool area. It is great to see opportunity flourishing in an area which has suffered from years of underinvestment.
As a college, we are very excited about helping companies leverage this opportunity by supporting them to upskill and reskill their workforce to secure future prosperity for the region.

About us
The Boathouse Youth is a charity working with children and young people aged five to 25 from socio-economically deprived communities across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast to help tackle the challenges they’re experiencing.
We operate out of seven locations, have a wonderful team of 60 and provide our services to more than 1,000 young people.
Our achievements
Last year we won the Red Rose Awards not for profit category and this year we’re celebrating our 15th anniversary.
Looking to the future we’re embarking on our ambitious £2.2m expansion plans and have secured this funding from a combination of sources including government monies, grants and trusts and philanthropic giving.
We’ll be renovating existing premises, opening new centres and delivering a wider range of services to a greater number of individuals.
Why we like doing business on the Fylde Coast
Blackpool is a very special place with so much to offer both its visitors and its residents. Our focus is to ensure that the talent that grows up in Blackpool stays in Blackpool so that the town can continue to ‘grow its own’ and thrive.
