30 RED ROSE AWARDS
ajhplant.com
About us At AJH we provide technical solutions with our innovative designs setting the benchmark throughout the industry.
We carry out rail conversions for plant and civils machinery as well as manufacturing our own specialist machines, whilst also upgrading older machines ensuring they are compliant and certified to the latest Network Rail standard.
Our achievements Over the past 12 months we’ve designed and manufactured two brand new conversions. Terrarailer 320 is a rail conversion of a Komatsu PW160-11 making it the heaviest lifting excavator with the furthest reach available for rail use in the UK and Ireland.
Rail Bandit is a brand new conversion of a Komatsu PC138 capable of entering tight spaces due to its compact size suitable for underground rail maintenance and engineering operations will be used on the London Underground for construction and maintenance purposes.
What it would mean to win As an industry leader in the rail solutions sector, winning a Red Rose Award is not only recognition for AJH, but the manufacturing capabilities in the North West.
Proof that it’s not only about creating a great product or service, but defining the benchmark by which organisations throughout the sector strive to meet.

brysdales.co.uk
About us Since 1971, Brysdales has been one of the UK’s most trusted storage solutions partners for organisations wishing to turn around complex warehouse racking, mezzanine and partitioning projects.
From our base in Chorley, our expert team offers a one-stop-shop of design, technical and installation services for sectors ranging from food and healthcare to automotive.
Our achievements Compliance is crucial to worker safety and warehouse performance, yet there’s a shortage of qualified inspectors and skills training. We believe our work to address this deserves recognition.
By the end of 2023, through strategic recruitment and retention, we directly employed 3 per cent of the world’s SARIs (SEMA Approved Rack Inspectors).
We also launched our own compliance skills training for customers, creating three qualifications including one – Duty Holder (Rack Safety Awareness Course) — unique to Brysdales. In May 2023, all three courses were assured by RoSPA.
What it would mean to win We want to further develop our compliance skills service because we believe our industry has an urgent need for 24/7 support and consultancy. Winning this award would be a validation of everything we’ve done over the past year and a fantastic incentive to go further.

coolkit.co.uk
About us CoolKit was founded in 2005. Based in Blackburn and Burnley we employ approximately 120 staff.
We are the UK’s leading converter of temperature-controlled panel vans used mainly in the pharmaceutical, food and sampling sectors and is recognised by fleet operators, fleet funders and motor dealers as an industry leader.
Our achievements CoolKit has been through a year of record growth and unprecedented change, incuding assembling a new leadership team including an MD, sales director and head of operations.
Unfortunately, in July we suffered a major fire, destroying one of our manufacturing units. Despite this our team showed great resilience and agility and had moved into a new site in Blackburn by September and was in full production by October.
Despite these challenges we grew our order intake by 50 per cent to over £30m in the year ending December 2023.
What it would mean to win To win an award would be a magnificent reward for the relentless efforts and dedication demonstrated by every member of staff from shop floor through to the boardroom.
It would be a huge achievement to be recognised by our peers in a year where we have come through huge challenges and emerged stronger.
