This year’s Hot 100 list shows the strength of Lancashire’s most profitable SMEs and their importance to the whole local economy. With the issues all businesses have faced in recent months due to coronavirus, we may expect some changes to certain aspects of the list over the coming years.

Over the coming
year it is vital that Lancashire has the right support in place
and that gap between traditional and online retail could widen in the coming months.
Companies which already had quality IT infrastructure will have also experienced
fewer interruptions to their businesses as staff have adapted to remote working.
Over the coming year it is vital that Lancashire has the right support in place to allow these elite businesses in the Hot 100 list to continue to grow profitably, and to support more businesses to grow faster and increase profits.
We also need to understand that within the current situation, many of these businesses may need to scale back and refocus to recover more quickly and to provide a platform for long-term growth.
Both the public and private sectors of Lancashire have a duty to reach out to these businesses and ensure they have quality, bespoke support in place to continue to return wealth and create jobs for the local economy.
