BAROMETER UP The Nelson-based Barnfield Group posted a second successive year


of growth, with turnover up double figures for the 12 months ending December 31, 2019. The family-run business, which specialises in construction, development and investment, saw turnover climb to £89.2m, with pre-tax profits up to £6.65m.


International engineering firm Assystem, whose UK operation is based in Blackburn, has completed the acquisition of Corporate Risk Associates. The move bolsters its risk and safety management consultancy in the nuclear sector, as well as supporting its work in the defence, transport and infrastructure markets, where CRA has significant UK-based experience.
