ASTM International to host organisational meeting on stormwater control measures

ASTMInternational, a leading global standards organisation,will host an organisationalmeeting to potentially launch a newactivity that creates technical standards for stormwater controlmeasures.

Newstormwatermanagement standards could support efforts to reduce pollution from stormwater runoff, create uniformtesting, verification, and certification programs for stormwater controlmeasures, unify varied stakeholders, andmuchmore.

Manufacturers, users, trade associations, professional societies, government agencies, consumer groups, academia, engineers, and testers are driving this effort. They are interested in creating standards in areas such as laboratory performancemethods, field

monitoring practices, and installation and maintenance guides, among others.

This no-fee virtualmeetingwill take place on Oct. 1, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. EDT. Anyone interested in charting a path towards standards in this field should registerwith FrankMcConnell, ASTMInternational technical committee operationsmanager

Themeetingwill:

• Bring an array of industry experts together;

• Identify specific standard’s needs;

• Determine if ASTMInternational should formally launch a newactivity; and, if so,

• Develop and approve title, scope, and structure of a newtechnical committee.
