hydraulic back door with manual clamps and a hydraulically driven jetting pump with rear mounted real and lance for washing down. The internal division gives 1,000 litres of clean water that is the ideal quantity for washing down after the job. With these standard specification trucks continuously in production many customers can take delivery immediately following a DVSA inspection and tank test certification. Having just finished three 2020 DAF LF builds and with two 2017 MAN TGM’s in production Hopdeals claims to have a range of vacuum tankers for all budgets.

Hopdeals has also been forward thinking and in 2021 pre-ordered a number of 4x2 and 6x2 new chassis from both MAN and DAF for delivery throughout 2022 and into 2023, this will ensure a continuous supply of new chassis for the new tanker equipment to be mounted on. As the new trucks are built to our requirements build times will be further reduced as the chassis is PTO prepped and chassis length specific to the 10,000 and 15,000 litre vacuum tankers.

MTS Suction Systems UK Ltd – MTS claims to be a leading supplier of Suction Excavation Systems in the UK providing a comprehensive range of road going units on 16 t through to 32 t chassis. The equipment is utilised in a dig and dump format and as such are predominately registered as Plant/Special Vehicles.

The systems can be utilised for FOLLOW US

suctioning of both wet and dry systems, and although mainly used for safe excavation works in areas heavily

congested with third party buried pipes and cables, many units now also feature water jetting systems for use in culvert cleaning etc.

The MTS DINO range can feature twin fan, triple fan and quad fan turbine systems offering the highest levels of performance for the removal of wet and dry materials at a range of depths and/or distances. The most popular form are the DINO8 and 12 models that have 8 or 12 m3 spoil tank capacities and twin 900 mm diameter turbines capable of working at depths of 20 m and distances of up to 100 m depending on materials.

Vehicle safety and environmental performance is important to MTS with all new models meeting the requirements of Euro6 for emissions. Mostly registered as Plant, users of the equipment typically follow a regime of 6, 8 or 12 weekly chassis inspections as applied to HGV vehicles, and of course as wheeled roadgoing plant, the equipment is subject to yearly MOT’s.

Areas of application of the equipment are often in urban environments and as such MTS endeavours to offer its equipment with as many roadgoing safety features as possible. New chassis feature lane departure and autonomous braking systems as standard although some construction/site chassis can be

exempt. Driver aids including 360o camera

systems with cyclist proximity sensors, or additional in-door windows for increased nearside line of site are commonly fitted in line with FOR’s (Fleet operators recognition scheme) Gold standards. These systems help in ensuring that the chassis can meet the new direct vision standards (2024). MTS has also mounted equipment onto specialist low entry, city biased chassis such as Mercedes Econic’s to help in not only improving driver all- round vision, but also to ease and improve the manoeuvrability of the equipment in busy urban areas.

As demands for the use of safe excavation techniques in the utility and construction industry, the importance of providing truck mounted units in the safest formats for the areas they will work in will continue to remain high on the MTS design team agenda. For the future the company is looking at the use of alternative/greener fuels, no easy task when high suction performance is required to ensure optimum levels of efficient working are maintained. Even so, the future for CNG, Hi-Brid and fully electrical systems are being investigated.

Rioned – For drainage equipment manufacturer Rioned, changes to regulations governing the use of commercial vehicles in UK cities has brought about an increased interest in its smaller 7.5 t combination jetting and
