Access to Higher Education
Do you want to study at degree level but don’t have the right qualifications? Our Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas prepare you for higher-level study.
Access courses give you the opportunity to build confidence and study skills and provide vital experience of university-level study, allowing you to work towards a degree with confidence.
You may be eligible for a loan to help towards the cost of this course. If you continue onto, and complete, a degree programme following successful completion of the Access to HE Diploma, you will not have to pay back your loan. Contact the Guidance Centre for more information.
Who can apply?
If you are interested in studying an Access to HE Diploma through Petroc, here are some of the attributes that we are looking for:
• GCSE English and Maths at grade Cor above or equivalent. Applicants will also need Science at grade Cor above or equivalent for the Diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Science, Health and Social Care and Teaching – Science Route. If you do not currently hold a grade C † in either Maths or English, you could study a GCSE course.
• A dedicated commitment to study a full-time course which, at times, can be very challenging.
• Evidence of recent study. Although this isn’t completely necessary, it does help us identify which course would be best suited for you.
• A clear idea of which subject you would like to study at university, which can also help us get you onto the right course.
