Full-time Prospectus | Your Study Programme Enrichment Activities


Through your Study Programme, you can get involved in enrichment activities to enhance your personal and social development, enabling you to make new friends, gain new experiences and learn new skills – a key part of college life.


In recent years, activities have included: preparation for World Skills events, attending Higher Education events, participating in the Academic Academy, STEM Academy and Sports Academy, National Citizens Service, debates and competitions, as well as many additional student-led activities.


Self-Directed Study


You will have dedicated self-directed study skills sessions which you will use for research, revision and to complete tasks set by your teachers. Some of these sessions will be supervised and facilitated by teaching staff. We also have a wide variety of self-directed study resources available online through our Moodle@Petroc Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).


Academic, Vocational or Technical Professional Qualification


If you’re not sure of the next step to take, or what to study, come and talk to us about your learning needs and ideas. We will create a personalised learning plan for you. We will find the programme to fit you, which can be a combination of study at college and in the world of work.


The majority of your timetable will be dedicated to studying the academic, technical or vocational subject(s) of your choice.
