“WTM London is the must-attend event where ideas are inspired and contacts made, with more than 51,000 senior travel professionals visiting”

EDITOR’S LETTER

T

his November is a landmark for World Travel Market London as the event celebrates 40 years of connecting travel professionals from around the world. Simon Press,

senior exhibition director for WTM London, is confident 2019 will be the event’s biggest year yet, predicting it will “beat last year’s huge £3.4 billion generated from industry deals”.

“WTM London is the must-attend event where ideas are inspired and contacts are made, with more than 51,000 senior travel professionals expected to visit over the three days, including 9,000 buyers, 5,000 exhibitors and 3,000 media,” he said. Press has also spoken about WTM London 2019’s new launches, big players and plans for change (p48).

This comes as the WTM team launches the inaugural London Travel Week, designed to bring together a calendar of industry parties, networking sessions, award ceremonies, launches and brand activation events away from ExCeL (p9).

Inside ExCeL, the next three days will see a stellar schedule of talks and panel discussions in the regional Inspiration Zones, covering everything from accessible travel (p46) to Brexit and Britain’s inbound travel trends (p45). Plus, this is the second year of Travel Forward, where delegates can hear from the likes of Google and Virgin, and be inspired by the next generation of travel technology (p39).

Today (Monday) is exhibitor invite-only and focused on business with speed networking sessions and pre-registered delegates welcomed into two Buyers’ Club lounges.
