How are your source markets performing? Nashville has had a great 2019, with visitation from both UK and Ireland up year-on-year. It’s selling well as a multicentre destination and city break.
Any big 2019 news? We hosted the National Football League (NFL) Draſt in April, which attracted more than 600,000 people to Nashville. Plus significant hotel
development – 22 opening in 2019 with many more planned for 2020.
What developments are in the pipeline? The Music City in Lights activation will highlight events taking place from the start of December until New Year’s Eve – Keith Urban is headlining.
How have international arrivals been performing? Portland has enjoyed gains in arrivals from the UK and elsewhere. It’s become popular due to TV shows such as Grimm being filmed there. We’re also seeing increased air services to Portland International.
Top reasons to visit in 2020? Next year will be quiet before 2021 sees the IAAF World Track & Field Championships held in

What makes the city special? A wealth of forests, parks and gardens. The city has been nicknamed “America’s foodie capital”.

The biggest news this year? Making National Geographic Traveller’s “28 must-see destinations for 2019” list for our vibrant and diverse culture.
What’s in the pipeline for 2020? Oakland has established itself as a cultural hotspot, as it is home to artists, chefs, fashion designers and entrepreneurs. Our 2020 calendar of events is a celebration of diversity and includes Oakland Pride,
Black Joy Parade, Oakland Art Month and Dia de las Muertos festival.
What markets are you targeting in 2020? We are focusing on culture and experience seekers in the UK, Canadian, French, German, Mexican and Chinese markets.

How have international arrivals been performing this year? Traffic has been robust, proving travellers have a great desire to see Pittsburgh and experience true Americana.
Top reasons to visit? The Andy Warhol Museum and breathtaking views from Mount Washington. Pittsburgh also boasts a vibrant Cultural District and foodie tours, while cheering for one of
Pittsburgh’s sports teams provides lasting memories.
Your hopes for tourism in 2020? We have raised awareness over the past few years, and we are optimistic that will continue, especially as direct flights continue to drive tourism to our region.
