Riverbend Bible Church Seeks Pastor


Community Profile Riverbend Bible Church lies 195 km north of Winnipeg. It is


located in the Dallas/Red Rose community, which is sandwiched between Peguis First Nation and Fisher River Cree Nation. Te community of Dallas, Man., is a small farming community with about 100 people of mixed ethnicity. Peguis First Nation (south of Dallas) is the largest reserve in Manitoba, with 10,000 people, nice facilities and a variety of small businesses. Te Fisher River Cree Nation is just north of Dallas, with a few businesses and almost 2,000 people. Te history of Fisher River is commercial fishing.


Te local area is largely crown land with a lot of outdoor opportunities. Te people are extremely friendly.


Te Church Riverbend is part of the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible


Churches, which currently provides a Steering Committee to assist the church with leadership. While the congregation is very small, the church building would seat about 125 people. Te church also owns a three-bedroom manse [parsonage] with a partially finished basement.

Pastor Profile We are looking for someone who is culturally sensitive and


able to work with all ages; a good Bible teacher with solid char- acter; someone outgoing, who would be willing to visit people; someone family-oriented with a healthy marriage. Te best candi- date would be creative and have musical ability.


Tis position would initially be bi-vocational, with housing


and part-time pay provided. Te qualified candidate will care for the current church members and join them in sharing the Gospel with the community. He will embrace the current leaders and their families, while also being visible in the community and forming relationships there. He must be willing to work with the leadership of the Steering Committee and the FEBC.
