Te structure of our organization will also be changing

with the addition of our Ministries Coordinator. In the past, all Commissions reported to the President. In the future, the CoC and CoPC will report to the Ministries Coordinator, while the CoCP, CoE and CoGP will continue to report to the President.

We are excited to see how these changes enhance our ability

to serve our churches and pastors. Please pray for us as this new structure is finalized and implemented. If more information is need- ed, questions can be directed to the FEBC office (info@febcministires.org).

Delegates connect in prayer for Fellowship churches.

Connecting with a Purpose Connect19

Guests, 125 of them from 26 Fellow-

ship churches, came together for three short days of friendship, growing, celebrat- ing, praying and doing business. Com- munity Bible folks did an amazing job of setting up and decorating the church.

Several unique features set this con-

vention — uh, I mean Connect — apart. For one thing, guests were encouraged to come at noon instead of the usual dinnertime arrival. Aſter a quick box lunch, eighty-one people connected as they visited the Henry Doorly Zoo, Lau- ritzen Gardens, or Omaha’s Old Market, or a golf course. So by dinnertime, many people had already reconnected with old friends or made new ones.

Another unique feature had the

weighty name “Directed Ministry Conver- sations.” Guests could choose a conver- sation in line with their own ministry or interests. For example, one could join a conversation about Computer Technol- ogy or Men’s Ministry or Leading Small Groups. For two short hours, a moderator encouraged discussion: “What do you do when …?” or “What resources do you find most helpful for …?” And people with experience in those areas shared solutions or introduced resources they had found helpful. What a way to connect and grow!

Ministry Coordinator Introduced Gary Krehbiel was introduced as the

FEBC Ministries Coordinator. FEBC

Directors asked God’s favor on Gary and Cristi as they begin this ministry to FEBC pastors and churches. Hopefully your church will get to know Gary soon.

have a winner. Evening sessions featured Joe Dallas (joedallas.com) giving a biblical response to homo- sexuality. Take in his messages on YouTube. Links are at fellow- shipforward.org or you can simply search YouTube for “Connect19 Joe Dallas.”

FEBC Video Library For over 60 years, the Fellowship has

purchased training materials to share with our churches. Tey came on filmstrips (what’s that?), 16mm film, cassette tapes, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs. Not only has the media changed over the years, but prices have dropped dramatically while postage has gone up dramatically. Now it is generally more efficient for each church to buy the video study it needs. Te Com- mission on Education decided to close the FEBC Video Library. So this year at the Video Library display, instead of encouraging check-outs, guests were invited to take home a used study.

Value of Fellowship Much of what the Fellowship does

is behind-the-scenes. Pastors and an elder each pulled the curtain back a little to highlight how being part of the Fellow- ship had helped them. Brian Friesen (Tisdale, Sask.) reported how an Outreach Grant from the Fellowship helped Tisdale Bible Church connect with their commu- nity. Mike Ginther told how President Stone helped him to evaluate his place of ministry and see where he was needed. [See Fellowship Focus, July/August 2019, page 8.] Doug Paziak from Crosspoint Bible Church of Omaha, Neb., explained how FEBC’s Shepherd Renewal Fund had allowed Crosspoint elders to refresh pastor couples who were beginning to feel the strain from years of ministry at Crosspoint. Assistance from the Shepherd Renewal Fund allowed Crosspoint to separately send several clergy couples on a structured pastoral counseling retreat.
