has planned two events: a worship in the park evening and a clothing swap. We pray these events will help give us a more visible presence in our growing community and be an encouragement to others.

faithebc.net Our church hosted a missions
conference July 26–28. Guest speaker Rolla Goodyear, representing Avant Ministries, shared with us the eternal impact of missions worldwide. His wife, Lisa, led special sessions for the children each evening. Our theme verse was “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” (Rom. 10:15 niv). Te weekend included Friday and Saturday evening services, a men’s breakfast with Eugene Enns and David Lopez, and a women’s luncheon with Marsha Enns and Karina Lopez, all with Grace Mission in Mexico. Sunday morning services concluded the confer- ence. Our own Steve and Mikki Schmidt were also with us for the weekend to give their final update before leaving for Gha- na in early September.
Community churches held a joint
worship service July 14 in the city park. Our worship team led music, and each pastor presented a segment of the message from Ephesians 1:3-14.
Five youth met at the church, packed
and ready to leave on their mission trip to Haiti early in the morning on June 17. However, due to the unrest in Haiti, a last minute call was made to cancel the trip. We pray for stability in Haiti and trust that our youth will be able to make the trip which has been rescheduled for February.
Other youth events this summer
included two “Fusion” workdays helping Grace Children’s Home clean up and pre- pare property for their next phase of min- istry. Tey also enjoyed sand volleyball and a lakeside event, as well as game and movie nights. A “Fusion” worship kick-off
was held August 18 to begin the new school year. “Fusion” is a joint meeting of church youth groups in our community.

grunthalemb.com In June we enjoyed congregational
fellowship at two events. “Guess who’s coming for lunch” is an event for which a coordinator arranges hosts and guests to share a Sunday noon meal together from participants who have signed up for the event. Hosts only know how many are coming. Guests only learn who their hosts are aſter the worship service. Its a great way to get to know church families a bit better.
We also enjoyed our Sunday School
picnic at the end of June, with a great chicken barbeque meal, various games, and visiting. Tis is held on our parking lot and adjacent school yard.
During the summer holidays, we
don’t have Sunday School classes, but enjoy a potluck breakfast together prior to the worship service. Tis provides time for good fellowship and opportunity to meet new-comers and guests.
Tree teens graduated from high
school. Each year Grunthal EMB Church
partners with other local churches to offer one week of solid Bible teaching to the children in our community through evening DVBS. Tis year we were excited to share the love of Jesus with over 200 children! Te theme was “International Spy Academy” from Answers in Genesis. Our goal for the week was to discern the One True God in a world full of counter- feits. Te Lord used over 40 volunteers from Grunthal’s body of believers to share the Good News of salvation. Love God, love others, and his message goes forth.
Several people have been at Fisher
Bay Bible Camp for work-weekends, staff training, and to take charge of one week of teen camp in August.
Henry and Janet Armstrong,
ministering in Singapore, are on a short home assignment until Sept. 19, in order to attend their son’s wedding and meet supporters.
Ron and Eunice Wiebe, ministering
in New Brunswick with CEF, have a full schedule of VBS and 5-Day Clubs® throughout the summer. Jazlyn, one of our bilingual youth, will assist them for two weeks.
Pastor Jared commented on his trip
to Omaha for the FEBC Convention: “Not only did I have the opportunity to go to Connect19 on motorcycle, which I enjoyed (even though sunscreen would have been a good idea), but what I really enjoyed was the time of great fellowship and teaching as we were blessed to hear God’s Truth presented clearly by Joe Dallas regarding our response to the LGBTQ+ movement that is pressing in upon the church. We need to be decided to follow Jesus and nothing else; to be a voice as the church is being shaken. To be transformed rather than conform.”

graceabbotsford.com We began summer by hosting our
annual VBS day camp “Smirkus Circus.” Children from Grace and our community received the message of Jesus Christ in a dramatic and impactful way. Not a sound was heard in the sanctuary FULL of children when Mr. Smirkus jumped off a ladder and “died” to save his friends, the performers. Te children were all quickly relieved when he rose from the dead and was alive again! All children and their families were invited to attend the final Circus performance during our Sunday Service followed by a wrap-up barbeque. Our average attendance was increased by 60 people! Praise the Lord for a successful outreach event.
Members from Grace who attended
Connect19 were encouraged and blessed, and those who did not attend were listen- ing online to the sermons that had such an impact on those who heard them.
