Recently, a prayer group began meet-
ing an hour before the morning service to bring to God the individual needs of our church family members, and to ask for the Holy Spirit to move among us and bless our worship and empower the preaching of God’s word. Te series that Pastor John has been giving is “Turning Problems Into Progress,” using familiar Bible characters as examples to learn from.

EMB joined other churches on Ash
Wednesday to remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, and use this time to reflect on the meaning it holds for all believers. Our church hosted the Good Friday joint service.
Following the series, “Approaching Something new and interesting
happened over spring break. Te youth from Cornerstone, our sister church in Steinbach, Man., came to spend time with our interns, Derek and Kirsten Reimer. Te goal was for the Cornerstone youth to experience ministry in an urban setting by reaching out to those in CFC’s communi- ty. Tey slept in the church, and families from our congregation provided meals. Te group rode the bus to visit the Youth For Christ building in downtown Win- nipeg in order to observe the different ministries that happen there. Outreach activities included door-to-door visits to invite CFC neighborhood youth for two game nights that the group planned. Although neighborhood response was minimal, there was value in working together, stepping out of comfort zones, and experiencing Christian camaraderie in this way.

Spring weather is welcome, and we
look forward to warm and drying days. Te rains began before the winter ended, and the entire area is saturated. Our area is farmland, but very little tillage has begun due to the standing water and closed roads. Since we provide food for our nation and the world, this is of great concern.
