Focus on our Churches

Lustre EMB Church Lustre, Montana John Skillman, Pastor Special events and even normal

church events were hard to come by in early 2019 because of “Winter” coming in “Spring.” It is amazing how many snow- storms blew through on Sundays. But the moisture has given us the coveted green look now, which is more than welcome.

Pastor John spoke on Romans 6:23

for our Community Good Friday Service at a neighboring church before we shared Communion together.

Te film “I Can Only Imagine” was

featured at our March 31 Movie Night. Community members, Jason and Stepha- nie Brown, also presented El Roi Minis- tries that they started in Haiti to provide schooling with a Christian emphasis for children who ordinarily would not be able to be educated. Jason and Steph have children, but have also have adopted twins from Haiti.

A special offering at our Women’s

Ministries Meeting will provide quality Christian books for children for our church library. Kathy Rauch has taken over the library ministry.

Aſter a very long service to the Lord,

Rose Rauch retired this spring from teach- ing Sunday school. Rose (in her 90s) has been faithfully presenting the Word of God in many ways and in various places since she was a teenager! Te children miss her and pray for “Miss Rose” every Lord’s Day.

Faith Evangelical Bible Church Henderson, Nebraska Bob Stretch, Pastor faithebc.net Our church participated in the

National Day of Prayer by gathering on the school playground to pray for teachers, students, and our educational system. We also hosted a prayer luncheon at our church at noon to pray for people in au- thority and to ask God to bring revival.

Five youth went on a mission trip

to Haiti on June 17–24 to install an irrigation system for the garden property outside the Grace Mission compound. Te entire youth group participated in fundraisers which, along with generous donations, fully funded the trip. Fund- raisers included selling and making over 500 pizzas, date night babysitting, and helping shingle a roof.

A group of 30 dads and sons enjoyed

a “dysFUNctional Campfire Event,” which turned out to be an indoor event due to (guess what?) RAIN. Brats and hot dogs along with games provided for great interaction. Our speaker, Jarrod Spilg- er from Grand Island, Neb., is an avid outdoorsman and frequent contributor of articles on hunting and fishing. He also writes for Te Grand Island Independent.

Hodgson Bible Church Hodgson Manitoba Hans Elgby Pastor hodgsonbiblechurch.org During the past winter and spring,

while being blessed with increased atten- dance in our services, we have also been challenged and upliſted by the amazing testimony of one our sisters who is living with cancer and dealing with the effects of the treaments.

We would also request prayer for

Wendy, the wonderful wife of our pastor. She has been told that she is facing a diag- nosis of a life-threatening illness. It is such an encouragement for our congregation to see how the Holy Spirit is providing strength, peace and comfort to these two exceptional women and their families.

Tis spring has been a busy one for

our congregation with youth meetings, personal care home services, and the mens’ and womens’ ministry meetings. We are finishing Sunday School for the summer and preparing for VBS and Fisher Bay Bible Camp. VBS, camp and the personal care home services have been our main outreach programs.

Tis past year, Womens’ Ministry

has organized successful Ladies Night Out meetings. Ten to over twenty women participate in different activities such as making tied fleece blankets for a pregnan- cy shelter, hosting spring tea and garden talk/greenhouse tour.

We are leaning on the arms of our

Saviour, for we know he is in control. Maritta Sinisalo, Correspondent

Humboldt Bible Church Humboldt, Saskatchewan Sean Brandow, Pastor humboldtbiblechurch.ca Pastor Sean is on sabbatical for three

months of studying, vacationing and refreshing with Marsha, and their chil- dren. He will take some classes at Millar College of the Bible.

A Ladies Spring Tea was held May 18.

One hundred nineteen ladies attended to enjoy a few hours of scrumptious desserts, beautiful decorations, visiting, heartfelt music and an inspirational message. We truly enjoyed the day and felt God’s hand and presence in every little detail!

Northeast Bible Church Calgary, Alberta John Fehr, Pastor Our small congregation lost two

much loved women who were mothers and grandmothers to families in our midst. For us to no longer have their strong faith and example, or their encouragement and prayers, is a huge loss that we feel very keenly. Still, we give thanks for their lives and praise God that we will one day be united again in our heavenly home.

On Mother’s Day we celebrated the

giſt of our mothers, those here and those gone to Glory. Te children read letters of tribute which they gave to their mothers along with lovely flowers. Teir presenta- tion ended with several songs which they joyfully sang songs to bless their mothers and everyone present.
