Current Pastor Paul Carpenter and wife Carol, have served the church for more than 30
years, beginning in November 1988. Preaching verse-by-verse through books of the Bible and teaching “Free Grace” with clarity, that salvation is received by faith in Christ and Christ alone, many people have come to saving faith or been comforted by assurance of their salvation. Pastor Carpenter also teaches Sunday School, leads Bible study every Wednesday evening and holds Question and Answer gatherings one Sunday evening a month. He is active within the FEBC as a speaker, editor and other activities as needed. Pastor Carpenter is the second longest serving pastor of the church, second only to B.O. Kroeker, who served 40 years.
Programs and Ministries Sunday School began in 1890 and has continued through the years for all ages. Vacation
Bible School (VBS) was first held in the summer of 1934 and continues to be a highlight of each summer. Beginning nearly 40 years ago, each year the VBS craſt activity gave each child at least one ceramic nativity figurine to paint. Trough years of attending VBS, a child can complete a nativity set. Beginning in 1997, Awana® has been and continues to be a major church ministry to children from JBC and the surrounding area.
Missions From its earliest years, when the church slogan was “Te Whole Bible for the Whole World,” to the present, Jansen Bible has
always been mission-minded, sending out and supporting missionaries around the globe. Several of these missionaries grew up in the church. Te first missionary to go out from the church [and the Fellowship] was Sarah (Kroeker) Anderson, who went to Africa as a nurse in 1912 without any written support.
Multiple former and present missionaries have been sent and supported to serve in Brazil, Canada, China, Mali, Belgian Congo,
French West Africa, Kenya, Spain, France, Indonesia, Pakistan and India. Other missionaries have served under International Train- ing Partners. Some have ministered at Avant Ministries headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., and at Ethnos360® Bible Institute (formerly New Tribes Bible Institute) in Wisconsin and in the mission headquarters in Florida.
Pastors Past and Present .
Te church also provides monthly support for Nebraska Awana®
missionaries and gives love offerings to visiting missionaries who share their work with the congregation.
Perseverance Jansen Bible Church is grateful to God for allowing them to minister
over these past 140 years. Te church is committed to following Christ into the next decades and continuing to faithfully teach and preach God’s word.
