WHAT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE?

Your customers place great emphasis on quality assurance, but quality training for your welders also makes excellent business sense for you. Professionally trained and certificated welders reduce the need for rework, with its associated costs, whilst improving repeatability, quality and productivity. European standards reinforce the importance of welding competence, placing stringent controls on the industry for the protection of users. As a result, an increasing number of companies are seeking to improve their welders' capabilities through practical training and demonstrate their proficiency by testing and certification. Weldability Sif has a dedicated Learn to

Weld division, providing a suite of welder training and assessment services, delivered flexibly for best return on clients’ time and investment. Training primarily takes place at the Weldability Sif Technology & Training Centre, where each delegate is fully-equipped with the latest welder training equipment, consumables and PPE. The EAL Approved Centre provides assessment of vocational welding skills – both practical technique and underpinning theory – for all skill levels, from novice to advanced, leading to certification in all the major welding processes. 3rd-Party witnessing and ‘coding’ to British, European, American and International welder qualification standards is also provided.

The courses Weldability Sif are currently running include: LEVEL 1 AWARD WELDING QUALIFICATION A one-week intensive, single process welding

WELDING WORLD MAGAZINE | ISSUE 06 | DECEMBER 2015

Technical advice in the original SifTips style was started in 1932. ‘Sifbronzing’ is an almost universally recognised way of describing the low temperature bronze welding of sheet steel, cast iron and other metals. This explains why Sifbronze, the company which first developed and promoted the technique, is generally considered to be a supplier of high quality welding rods, wires, fluxes and equipment. ‘Will the Welder’ was a SifTips magazine

that was produced in the early 1930s. The aim was to provide users with ideas and tips on how to get the most out of their welding equipment. In 2007, Weldability-Sif acquired Sifbronze, the welding consumables division of the Suffolk Iron Foundry, known internationally as Sif. Sif is renowned for its UK manufacturing heritage as well as its complete range of quality welding consumables for MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, Arc/SMAW, Oxy/Fuel Welding and Brazing which have been used globally for almost a century.
